KRYPTON
In order for everyone to know how Superman got where he is (the greatest superhero on Earth) we have to go back... way back. All the way back to Jor-El Sr. Jor-El Sr. was Jor-El Jr.'s father (Jor-El Jr. being Kal-El's father; Kal-El being Clark Kent; Clark Kent being Superman). When Jor-El Jr. was a teen, he always gave his father a hard time. Eventually, Jor-El Sr. got fed up with it and decided to punish him. On Krypton, punishments are a little different. Kryptonians didn't whoop their children, or put them in time out. They sent them somewhere. Anywhere within the 23 known galaxies. Jor-El Sr. decided to sent him to Earth.
To be honest, Jor-El Jr. did not want to go at all. He was starting to hate his father for doing it. Jor-El Jr. kept promising that he wouldn't do or say anything bad anymore. It was no use. Jor-El Sr. had made up his mind and he ordered his son to go to Earth.
When Jor-El Jr. arrived on Earth, he felt the fresh air. This made him a little more happier. But Jor-El didn't know what to do there. He used his powers to speed around the globe and stopped in a small town in Kansas called Smallville. As he looked around, he saw a different world. A world where it is more peaceful. Jor-El wanted to keep the peace. As he walked through the peaceful town, he saw something out of order. An older gentleman, about 35 or 40, held a gun up to a young woman and ordered her to give him all of her money. Jor-El did not like the fact that he thinks he can do that and get away with it. So Jor-El ran over to the man and pushed him down. After Jor-El pushed him down, the sheriff, Sheriff Tate, came and got him to take him to jail. The woman thanked Jor-El then asked him his name. He said his name was Joe and he was a drifter. She told him her name was Louise. The two were instantly in love. But Louise was already married to another man that she didn't love. Jor-El and Louise were secretly together for about two days, and Louise's husband knew something was up. Her husband and the sheriff (who was secretly in love with Louise) had a plan, kill the drifter, Joe. They hired a man to go to the drifter while he was with Louise and shoot him. Jor-El was Kryptonian so he was bulletproof. The man that was hired held a gun up to Jor-El and shot him once. The bullet ricocheted off of Jor-El and shot Louise in the heart.
The hired assassin ran away in fear. Jor-El held Louise in his arms and cried. Right then, Sheriff Tate came and Jor-El ran away. Sheriff Tate was thinking, since the drifter ran away, that the drifter killed Louise. Jor-El ran all the way until he found a little farm. He was going through their stuff, looking at it, and was planning on stealing some of it and then getting out of there. But then he heard the sound of a shotgun being cocked. Jor-El turned around to see a man pointing a gun at him. Jor-El put his arms up and told him that he meant no harm, but that he was in trouble. The man told him that he was safe there, at the Kent farm. The man introduced himself as Hiram Kent. Hiram let Jor-El into his home and gave him a leather jacket and offered him a ride home. Jor-El told him that he lived too far away for him to have a ride, but he could take him to a place where he can get home. Then Hiram introduced his wife, Jessica, (who was at the time pregnant with Jonathan Kent) to Jor-El. Jor-El thought that these people were nice and reliable. If there was anything that Jor-El would need, he could rely on them.

Hiram took Jor-El to a cave and Jor-El went back to Krypton. He told everyone of his adventures on Earth. Now we jump ahead 3 Norzects (about 30 years) later. Jor-El was elected head of the Space-Science program, he has a wife named Lara and a child named Kal-El on the way, and life is pretty good for him. Up until he realizes that the world is going to end. (I'm going to use the story line of my favorite Superman story. There were two different stories of how Krypton ended) Jor-El was smart enough to figure out that one of his co-workers, Zod, was planning on destroying the world and ruling a new planet. Jor-El didn't like the idea and tried to stop him. But failed. So, instead, he built a small spaceship, able to fit a short person and an infant. Jor-El built it for his wife and infant son. When the day of Krypton's destruction finally came, Lara decided to stay with her husband. Jor-El put his son in the ship and sent it to Earth. Since he met Hiram Kent, he figured that little Kal-El would be safe with the Kents.
